How do I access your services?
See the Intake section of this website or call our general Intake Worker at 416-924-2100 x245. Each program has specific information on intake but this person will be happy to assist you in speaking to the right person.

I need help right away. What should I do?
If you cannot wait to talk to an Intake Worker at the CTYS, the Kids Help Phone at 1-800-668-6868 handles our after-hours service. They will be able to assist you and provide you with immediate supports.

What ages do you serve?
We serve youth aged 12-24. However, programs have specific age groups that they serve.

How long is the waiting list?
Our wait list length changes. Also, there are different wait times for different programs. Please contact the Intake Worker to discuss this further.

Do you offer languages other than English?
Our staff come from diverse backgrounds and speak several different languages. Some services are available in different languages and we do our best to accommodate any barriers language creates.

Do I have to pay for your services?
Our services are free of charge and paid for by the generous support of our many sponsors, funders and donors.

Who are your staff?
All our professional staff have dedicated their professional careers to working with youth and families. Our staff include Child and Youth Workers, Social Workers, Art Therapists, Psychologists and Clinical Researchers. All are dedicated to empowering youth to succeed in the challenges that face them. They come from diverse cultural and social backgrounds.

Where are you located?
We have two locations. Our main office is located at 65 Wellesley Street East, Suite 300 in walking distance from the Wellesley subway station. The other is located at 425 Adelaide Street West, Suite 301, minutes away from the Spadina/Queen intersection. However, most of our services are delivered in the community, where you live and go to school.

How is information about my family and me kept?
Information that you share with us is confidential. A client file will be maintained containing written reports by our workers and other professionals. Our files are open to our youth and you will receive copies of our reports. Legally, information and reports in your file cannot be shared with any outside person or organization without your written permission. The only people with access to your files are the workers involved with you and their manager. However, we have a legal responsibility to report suspected cases or risk of child abuse to the appropriate children's aid society. We must also report our concerns that a child may pose a threat to him/herself or to others.

Do you have an Anti-Discrimination Policy?
We are committed to providing an environment that is free from harassment and discrimination. Our anti-harassment and anti-discrimination policies ensure clients are treated respectfully. Our programs are sensitive to each client's culture, race, gender, sexual orientation, family composition and socioeconomic circumstance.

What if I have a complaint about any of the services I received?
CTYS takes all concerns and issues you raise seriously and will address these as quickly as possible. Although we realize it is not always easy to talk about difficult issues, we have found that most complaints can be solved through discussion. If you have a complaint, you are encouraged to talk with their worker. If things cannot be worked out, we invite the youth to speak with a Manager. Then, if unresolved, a Director and/or the Executive Director will become involved in the process. It is our goal to see that each youth receives service that works for them.

How can I help support CTYS?
CTYS is a non-profit charitble organization. The generous support from organization and individuals allows us to provide our services free of charge.  All donations are greatly appreciated.
