Nicola Brown (Co-Principal Investigator)
Nicola Brown has been involved in community-based initiatives with marginalized communities for many years. As a cis-ally, she was one of the three main organizers of Sexin’ Change, Toronto’s first trans conference in 2001, and has worked with multiple organizations and many service providers considering issues of trans accessibility and sensitivity in her capacity as a Psychologist. She is employed by Central Toronto Youth Services’ Pride and Prejudice Program.
Rebecca Hammond (Co-Principal Investigator)
Rebecca Hammond is a community activist and health researcher. She is currently a member of the Trans PULSE Project , and the Ontario Women’s Study. Rebecca has been the co-facilitator of Trans Youth Toronto since 2006. Rebecca is involved in various projects and does active training to challenge cissexism and transphobia in various settings.
Krys McGuire (Peer Researcher)
Krys McGuire has been active in trans, queer, and disability communities for a number of years. From screening his short video "How to Build a Man" at the Inside/Out Film Festival, to helping organize the Trans/Equity Conference at York University, to serving up yummy food while volunteering at Centre 519's Meal Trans program, Krys likes being involved in projects that take various approaches to making the world a happier and more accessible place for trans people. He is currently working at CTYS and York University before continuing with his academic studies at the graduate level. His position is partially funded by the LGCA.
